What’s the purpose of this blog?

Published by melissaamon

I am a busy mother to four small children and I homeschool. This site will have blogs on homeschooling issues, but since I don’t have time to clean my house all in one day or even for large amounts of time, this blog’s main goal is to give other moms and myself, a task to do each day in order for our houses to stay in control.  I know there are a lot of moms who try to keep a perfect house and spend hours each day cleaning. This blog is not for you. This is for the mom who wants to be motivated to perhaps set the timer and clean a certain room for 15 minutes or motivated to dust the tops of your picture frames (hey, at least once a year). This is not a weekly or monthly rotation of tasks. It is more of a motivator to get you to do things that perhaps you’ve been putting off for a long time (like cleaning off your desk or dresser) or for days you wouldn’t have done anything at all. And, if you do the daily tasks each day, when it’s time to clean the house for company or you’re just sick and tired of it being messy or dirty, at least you’ve done stuff everyday to help it not be so overwhelming.

Give it a try. Tomorrow is the beginning of a new day. I will try to post each night the next day’s tasks because I can’t guarantee I will have time each early morning to post. In this blog, I will actually list three things. You can pick either #1 or #2.  You can do both, but I figure if I say, “Clean your toilet bowls today,” and you just did that for company yesterday, you might want another choice. Or if you have 15 toilets, you may be overwhelmed and decide not to do that one.  However, if you have 15 toilets, you probably can afford a maid so go hire one and save yourself the trouble. Anyhow, #3 will always be the same each day. I heard this idea from someone else and want to pass it on to you.

If you have a desired task you want me to add, feel free to comment on a previous day’s blog and maybe (probably) I’ll use your idea.
