Homeschooling with little children around. My schedule and how I do it.

My Day:  I have three little ones who are not homeschooled. Here is how I do it. First of all, I start in the morning.  I know some moms in my circumstance who do it in the afternoon, but I find that in the morning, the other kids are fresh and are more likely to play than in the afternoon.  Also, naps are not consistant in the afternoon. So, here’s my schedule:

7:00-8:00 Starting then, kids wake up one by one. They watch tv in the morning (yes they do!)

8:00 Breakfast, more tv, get dressed. Yes, they still watch tv. Sorry if I disappoint you.

8:30 Tv off, baby in excersaucer, 18 month old and 2 year old go play. They’re excited to play at this time after watching tv. Homeschool begins.

9:30-10:00 Around this time, the 18 month old and the baby (6 months) get cranky. So, they’re off to bed. They are pretty good at taking this nap, although today it wasn’t so good. The 2 year old (he’ll be three in 2 months) has computer time now. This is about the time he’s done with his toys anyway and needs a change. He likes www.starfall.com and Nick Jr (yes, Nick Jr).

10-Lunch: Homeschool continues and we finish by lunch, if not earlier, and the other kids wake up and the two year old gets of the computer, and we have lunch. The rest of the day is free.

What does your day look like?
